  • @vincent7520 Pioneer is two day's walk from the road. It's not worth paying a guide for 4 extra days. The chopper is a quick and economical way to get to the interesting alpine climbing. At 80 yrs of age carrying a heavy pack is not inviting. Unlike in Europe, here we need to carry sleeping bags, food and cooking equipment as well as our climbing gear. I did enough of that when I was younger :-)

  • As far as I can remember, we have to carry your sleeping bag in europe too …

    Otherwise, congratulations for still climbing at the age of 80 : keep on the good works dougball !…
