My tips for beating the depression.....

1. coupons from sun. paper and internet coupons are your friend

2. Dont have children unless you can afford it.

3. Never believe you are too good for a certain type of job when things get tough.

4. Avoid debt like the plague

5. Everytime you eat out you are robbing yourself. Cook at home.

6. keep at least 6months of emergency money.

@hrobbins Avoiding dept in a depression? Dream on. Fast food is cheaper and having more kids increase what ever income one family can get, that's why poor people in poorer countries have more children. More children=more labor. I think you need to rethink your tips.

@pomegranateish The poor can be fat because of bad cheap food. Inexpensive high fructose corn syrup and empty calories from burgers and fries combos.
