I think Sean Combs did fine. He knows what it is like to be black in white America. He knows what it is like to be treated different just because of your race. Yes Poitier's rendition was classic and it is hard to beat, but I think Sean did a fine job.

@lifestudentno83 i know right? The original is a classic and the only reason that I had to watch this version was because it was an assignment for my drama class in high school. P. Diddy could've acted better than that or maybe they should've gotten someone else to do it.

sean combs is horrible in this. His acting is so bad. I think the reason it is is because he really can't relate to Walter Lee's feelings. Puffy himself was a multi-millionaire before he was 30. What the hell does he really know about being poor at middle age and trying to chase a dream he can't have.
