Performed by MPK. This is a video to teach how to play the chords to Big Star's "Back Of A Car".

This video assumes you are familiar with the song. If you are not, run out and buy a copy! Like the Replacements say, "I never travel far without a little Big Star".

Check out his own music at mypoorkevin.com or see him dancing with a walrus at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZQXsiS1LpU

  • Awesome job, and nice work.

    Big Stah 4 eva

  • Thanks! I agree, 4 eva.

  • always loved the guitar on this - about the sparkliest sound i've ever heard on the original. great stuff....now please please give us the very lovely 'watch the sunrise'. if i could play that, my life would be at least a couple of percent more complete...

  • Thanks. Never took the time to learn Watch The Sunrise. If I do, I will post it. It is a great song.

  • You are such a bad ass for posting this. I've wanted to learn this song forever and couldn't quite pick out what was going on. Thank you a thousand times for putting this up. Any plans to do the rest of #1 Record/Radio City?

  • Thanks. I might do another, time permitting.

  • if you could go the distance and put text in your video to illustrate the chord then you may as well have done a chord window - i can't see what Cadd 9 is, just from watching your fingers or Am/F#

  • It's the C add9 chord that makes that progression so awesome.

  • GOOD GOoD GO0D!! MORE MORE MORE jejejej good job from Spain!!

    whatch the sunrise ??? jejeje

  • thanks man. got me playing it a lot faster than on my own... any others would be greatly appreciated! R.I.P. Alex.

  • As a beginner, I'm going to look for something simpler, but this is beautiful. Good job.

  • Very well done.

    Thank you much !

  • Excellent. Slightly different to how I have been playing it, but yours sounds much better. I mst have had that second chord wrong!
