Part Price is Right, part Antiques Roadshow, storage unit auctions are a growing trend in a down economy. For more information go to www.storageauctions.com
It is a shame, because being entertainment and not having to make it very clear it is a set up, there are a multitude of idiots out there to make a buck on trash that are going to lose their butts, and take the long timers down with them. At this auction, we (relative that was bored) got there 45 min early, got the last parking space up front, then they had to start parking them in the area where the lockers were.
haha a married guy under duress from his wife! (What IS all this crap? GET RID OF IT or I WILL.) And that's the story of how the man got a secret storage locker. Then he has a heart attack and doesnt have time to tell his wife.... and it gets auctioned off.
Oh brother, he mentions a few good things but in reality most of these units are simply full of people's junk they just didn't want to part with. I helped a guy clean these things out down in Texas back in the 80's and I couldn't believe the shit people paid money to store. I would say probably about one out of every twenty lockers had a few items that were actually worth something.
Uh hasn't anyone heard of one persons trash is anothers treasure. Maybe a lot is trash but why would someone pay lots of money to store trash. That's what the garbage is for. I bet some people just look at stuff and think it's trash but throw out stuff that's worth something. You hear of thrift stores getting treasures often.
