Driving in blizzard conditions - I94 Minnesota 2010/12/11

Driving from St Cloud to Minneapolis. Roads were nicely plowed, but there was a lot of blowing snow. Car is a 1999 A4 Quattro with Hankook Ipike W409 snow tires. Lots of grip and stability in the snow.

Are they 205/55/16? if so i might be interested in buying a set. Probably wont be able to make it to the ice driving event because of one week old son, school and work, but damn would i love to go. U gunna post some videos from the event?

@ddr85 Imola says $86 each for the generals. I might post a video from the event if I can get a camera and mount. Also, if this sunday doesn't work, there are 3 more ice events scheduled:

- Sunday, January 30

- Sunday, February 13

- Sunday, February 27

These seem to be good tires and I'm looking to buy some for next winter. How are they once you break loose? Are they predictable and easy to control when drifting in AWD? (I drive a 2002 Subaru WRX).

@ddr85 They're FANTASTIC. So much fun to drift around on and very controllable. I would easily choose this tire again, or the General Altimax Arctics (whichever is cheaper, they are both very affordable) if you're looking for new snow tires. I have two sets of the W409s, one set for both of my cars... very happy with them. Imola Motorsports sells the Generals.

Glacier Lakes Quattro Club puts on ice driving events during the winter. The first one is this Sunday. Bring your subie :)
