this is to maximize your speed when you have a short wave like this, witch theoretically increases you air when hitting the lip with the right time.

hitting the lip with such precision and getting the right time on such a small wave and boosting air on that size is very impressive, one thing you should keep in mind though if you want to go bigger, try this ( if your going right on a wave lift you right leg just about the water, and going left lift the left leg, to increase speed and decrease drag so you dont loose speed) so basically witch ever leg is closest to that wall,
