Wii: Blazing Angels Walkthrough D-Day Normandy Ace part 3 of 3
This is how I earned an Ace Rating, and a Legion dHonneur Chevalier. After the seventh (7) inland gun bunker is destroyed, you will reach the third (3) checkpoint, you will be given eight minutes (8:00) to complete the final objective. Turn ninety (90) degrees to the left, locate and highlight the German Stuka bomber that is all the way at the end of the large bomber formation, race toward this Stuka, if you need power call on Joe now (say goodbye, because this is last time you will ever hear from Joe again), the third (3) and final objective will be given. OBJECTIVE: DESTROY THE STUKA BOMBERS AND THE PANZER COLUMNS! After you have made a ninety (90) degree left turn you will see a dozen (12) German Stuka bombers all flying together on your left side, they are all flying at the same elevation, in four (4) columns three (3) Stukas deep. As soon as you have located and highlighted the Stuka at the very back of the formation quickly correct your elevation so that you are flying at the same height as the Stuka formation and pull in behind the highlighted Stuka. You will now have about twenty seconds (0:20) to shoot as many Stukas down as you can. All of the Stukas are bunched up together making it very easy to shoot a lot of them down, you should strive to shoot down at least six (6) Stukas. After the twenty seconds (0:20) are over a video cut scene will play, poor Joe will be shot down by a lone German Stuka. There is nothing you can do to save Joe, no matter how quickly or how many Stukas you shoot down, Joe always gets killed in the end. If you are trying to earn an ace rating and a Legion dHonneur Chevalier and you were able to complete the previous objectives with no help from your wingmen, then after the video cut scene plays you can use your wingmen as you please. After the video of Joe crashing plays you will have to race against the clock to finish the last objective as quickly as possible. When the video clip finishes highlight one of the remaining Stuka bombers, command Frank to hunt it down, and command your wingmen to attack while you focus on destroying the columns of tanks. There are three (3) columns of German tanks, with five (5) tanks in each column, highlight the closest column, race towards it at maximum speed, gain some altitude, when the column of German tanks begins to move on your radar slow all the way down, aim carefully and shoot all eight (8) of your rockets at the five (5) target tanks. After your rockets are exhausted pull up and fly away at maximum speed until four (4) of your rockets have been reloaded, slow down, aim for the remaining tanks, and destroy them. After the first (1) column of tanks is destroyed, highlight the next closest column of tanks and race toward it, the moment that Franks lightning bolt has refilled, highlight another Stuka bomber and command Frank to hunt it down. After you have finished destroying the second (2) column of tanks, highlight the third (3) and last column of five (5) tanks and race toward it, repeat the maneuvers and destroy the last column of tanks. When you have finished destroying the last column of tanks, focus on shooting down any remaining Stuka bombers that are left. If you are able to shoot down twenty (20) German planes and twenty-five (25) tanks / gun bunkers in ten minutes and thirty seconds (10:30) or less you will earn your sixteenth (16) Ace rating and be awarded the Legion dHonneur Chevalier; although I have been able to earn an ace rating after as much as fifteen minutes and twenty-one seconds (15:21) by shooting down twenty-seven (27) planes, and destroying forty-one (41) tanks / gun bunkers. You will unlock two (2) new planes, the P 51D Mustang and the Me 109K, I suggest upgrading both of these planes in the Standalone mode arcade before you move on to your next mission: Paris: La Liberation. End of Part 3 of 3. Good Luck
It really should have been Tom.
