LONDON'S SOUTH BANK + POLICE STATE BRITAIN

If you use your stills or video camera in Central London you will be stopped unless you look like a toursit. Worse if your camera is big or looks 'professional'. I suppose that security personnel think that 'professional' means you are up to something. Many photo and videographers are being stopped by a private security army in contact with police and community support officers. They will harass you and try to stop you doing your job or your hobby. But you MUST know the law. Nobody has the right to stop you photographing or videoing in a public place. You have the right to do it. KNOW THE LAW. IT CAN PROTECT YOU. Make it difficult for them to harass you.

I feel so passionately about this subject, i'm absolutely over the moon to see that others feel the same way.Police have been given powers that only need to be used in the event of a security threat to the people of this country and they abuse these powers every day, using them to fulfill their annual arrest count which justifies the over funding received at the end of each year by that particular force, and what for????
