Ensign Peak is at the north end of the Salt Lake Valley. To access it you drive along the east side of the State Capitol Building on E. Capitol Blvd until you turn left onto Ensign Vista Drive. There is a small park and this is the access to the trail head. This hike was made on March 14, 2010 when the conditions were still muddy at locations. Look for drier times to hike this trail because the thick clay mud is very slippery. Otherwise it is an easy hike and took only 23 minutes to get to the top despite many stops to video and take photos.
Great video! It took me about 30 - 45 minutes to walk to the top of Ensign Peak! I am an over weight person, so I am a slow walker, and I get out of breath faster! When I go hiking with a group, I am always the last one to the top!
