The healthcare industry is currently facing shortages in a variety of occupations. Following the industry trend, Clarian Health was finding it difficult getting people to move into certain technician and technologist positions, due to a lack of awareness.
Clarian's Corporate University focuses on moving people through the organization. Many of the entry-level employees, however, were lacking basic job skills. The state of Indiana provided Clarian with a workforce development, which allowed them to seek partnerships with colleges. Clarian developed several relationships with local colleges, helping them reduce the need for internal, fulltime instructors.
Clarian is now able to use their partnerships as a crucial stepping-stone in their talent development process, showing improvements in retention, morale, and engagement. In fact, ninety-eight percent of participants said they would not have participated in any kind of higher education if Clarian had not stepped up to the plate.
