PSP Home-Made Speaker Mod (Very Loud)

This is my PSP with a 0.5 Full Range stero speaker mounted to the back of my UMD compartment. I just made it today and it took about 6 hours! All I did was take a speaker out of an old portable radio and wired it to the speaker output inside the PSP. I then took the speaker and put it inside a tooth pick case which i cut down to size. It is now about 10 times louder than it originally was and this is no joke! Pros: VERY LOUD, good for movies because of speaker prop, perfect for portable sound anywere. Cons: has a slight buzzing noise when volume is low or off, a bit heavier than a pound now, doesn't easily fit into pocket or small storage.

so all you did was solder wires to the existing speaker wire? no amplifiers? i put a speaker on the back of my psp but its still normal volume. i dont understand?

you need a large but not to large very low powered speaker for it to be louder. i guess i got lucky with the speaker :) oh and light mp3 works good for boosting the volume if you have custom firmware. if not just use mp3gain to boost the mp3 volume

i soldered the wires to the speaker and ran them into the psp on the motherboard were the speakers connect and just stuck a wire into the plug ins were it would stay.
