Painting Transformations by Larry Caveney

The "Party White" paintings represent the final stage of transitions that occurred over a 5 year span; all about the introduction of new ideas onto the topographical areas of the paintings, to a final conclusion with process color, hence collage.

I paint (mixed medium) and create collages (Rag Series) within the same process within the performative actions. I want to find the reality of the material and bring it to some state of suspension upon first observation. These are abstractions that are process driven/non-objective. Robert Ryan, Robert Erin both are huge influences on how I do things with objects.
