This is the bathroom in it's finished condition.
I think you will agree that this bathroom is small (but average for most homes).
The shower unit comes from Aqualux.
The shower and the rest of the units come from Homebase. I think that the total cost for this makover came to somewhere near 4-1/2k.
From the time I started until I got the bathroom into a near finished state took 4 and a bit weeks. Because the family still needed a bathroom while the work was going on, the work was done piece-meal.
If it had been done normally, the ceiling, the wall tiles, and the floor tiling would have been done first and then the units would have been moved in. The floor tiling was one of the last things to get done - that had the benefit of avoiding damage to the tiles. One unusal aspect of the work was that all piping was surface mounted, but routed in such a way that the units hid most of it. The remaining bits were hidden by dummy plinths between the units.
The piping for the radiators was boxed in. Looks neater but god help if it leaks :-)
There are a few more cosmetic bits to be done. There is also another wall cabinet to come - that got missed out in the original order from Home base.
The next project, which is seperate from but part of the renovations is to turn the bathroom door around so it leads into the open space in the middle of the bathroom. That will have the added benefit of giving the impression the bathrom is bigger. However, I do realise that it means the door will open across a window - aesthetically not correct.
At a later date, to freshen up the bathroom, I will add a cornice/pelmet and get it lit with blue LED downlights to add a really modern accent to the overall look.
