The road should be widened to have at least 4 lanes in order to showcase the indian military items and as a well as for the parade that will ensue.
Having only 2 lanes to handle all te equipments and parades is not enough, and not acceptable for a giant like MOTHER INDIA.
I hope that the indian gov. will seriously consider constructing a 4 or 5 lane road , for the military showcase and for the marchpast also.
This road is simply too narrow for a BIG DAY, like republic day.

@SuperGlobalCitizen Get your facts right mate, India doesn't consider Tibet a part of its territory. It considers Tibet an independent country. And yes it's under dispute, and also if ever there is an Indo-China war (again): Tibet and the North East will be strategically important.
