Biblical principles behind the constitution- How and Why it Limits the Power of Government.

The Constitution- How and Why it Limits the Power of Government

The Lord G-d never intended for one man to dominate another. You can't find that anywhere in this bible. In fact, from Genesis clear on through He intended for men to be free. I think the most prevalent example of this is when the children of Israel left Egypt the type of government that He gave them reflected this. Remember Moses accepted the Ten Commandments and they were the law for us all to obey, still today is the most perfect Law known to man. And instead of a government being set up to rule the children of Israel what was set up was judges and the only form of government that was exercised was the children of Israel were to not violate any of G-d's Laws and that they would be judged as to that infraction.

And of course we all know what happens when men a totally free-they prosper. And they really prosper, they become wealthy beyond all dreams. So what happens when men become wealthy, in any society I think we've watched that in the last 90 years in this country... they want to shirk their responsibilities and enjoy their wealth. And that's exactly what happened to the children of Israel, they shirked their responsibilities and wanted to enjoy their wealth.

So they asked Samuel to go to G-d and ask for a king. And of course we know what G-d told Samuel would happen and that if the children of Israel got a king—he would take all their man-child to run in front of his chariot carrying spears and he would take a 10th of their vineyards, of their olive gardens; he would take their female child and they said we don't care, everyone else has a king and we want one too. Let the king take care of us.

And we all saw how the king took care of them and how the king used them and its no different than here. It's the same way. I think one of the biggest problems we have here is the lack of knowledge of not only G-d's Law but the law of this country. And that's the main problem we have. The preachers who preach this book don't even understand it and equate it against our laws. Particularly when they talk around March or April 'render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and render tribute to that which the tribute is due.

Hardly any of them that I know preach Matthew 17 verses 24 through 27, which says...

24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute?
25 He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? Of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? Of their own children or of strangers?
26 Peter saith unto him, Of strangers, Jesus saith unto him, Then the children are free.
27 Notwithstanding, les we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast a hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

What did Jesus say when he spoke these four short verses? He said a lot. Let's look at this. If the king doesn't take custom from his children, then they are what? FREE. What did he mean by their being FREE? Free from what? Free from TAXATION. If children are free they are free from taxation.

Then he says, we don't want to offend these people so go down to the sea and cast a hook and bring up a fish and open his mouth you'll find a piece of money give that to him. Did he say go to Judas, the treasurer of the apostles take it from his purse? No. He didn't say take it from MY purse, no he didn't say that either. He didn't say take it from Peters purse. Go to the sea and take it from a fish.

Well I think it was very significant what he was telling us. Because at that time there was a pagan god called Dagon. And that god had half the body of a man and a fish head and when his mouth was open money would flow from his mouth. And I think Jesus was telling us that custom and tribute were really of Satan (or in my view a false god). That taxes that support government that dominate you and I are tyrannical, are of Satan.

  • they got me down why i can not link with you again dear lady?

  • @meliopedRP12 Hi sister! I don't know why you cannot link. Let me know what i can do you help you.

  • I do not believe, yet I am a believer in Liberty. Liberty is what allows people to live the lives they want. As free as they want, as Christian as they want, as fat or as skinny as they want etc etc, as long as they don't intrude on others rights to their freedom.

The problem right now are all these special interest groups (left, right, believes, atheists) that force their opinions on eacht other: don't pray on school, do pray on school, biofuel, no biofuel, drilling no-drilling... ARGH !

  • @jccusell Yes. And I couldn't agree with you more.

  • @anyusmoon1 Except about the believing part ;-) but I continue to pray for all :-)

  • Nah, life's too short to add to the hate.

  • I watched and listened with great interest. As a born again believer who supports RON PAUL I found this to be very enlighting. I have read the passage in Matt. many many times over the years. This is the first time I think I understand it. Mahalo and keep up the wonderful front line work you are doing for our RON PAUL and therefore our country.

  • Ok, you said 'He didn't get caught up in...' and imply (correctly) that His words were magnificent and on High; but I wrote look at what he SAID.

"Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast a hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee."

Those instructions are clear. And they did not say to pay from your purse, in gold.

  • [A agree that his words were 'other-worldly' and high. I agree that kind of interpretation is smooth.]

    I'm sorry but it's late & I don't really get this comment.

He said what he said- "Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast a hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee."

  • He didn't get caught up in what would have been a big political distraction by assassination of His character (or jail) which would put Him off course. I could say this, "Anyusmoon1 pay me whatever you owe me." If you owe me nothing you'll pay me nothing.

Let's say someone wants to drag you into a discussion about filing a 1040 if you don't file? "Do you file a 1040?" Your response, "I always pay whatever I owe".

If "offending them" is a major distraction to a greater purpose just pay it.

  • Jesus threatened the status-quo of the time. Politics is generally protecting what is owned or the gain of something at the expense of Life, Liberty, Property & Pursuit of Happiness of another.

I.e the question about pay tribute to Caesar was political entrapment. If Jesus says pay it to Caesar he will be looked as a Roman occupied collaborator. If he says no then He looks to be in rebellion to Rome

Jesus says instead in so many words, "If you owe it pay it". He avoided the politics
