This is my rendition of Rock With You by Michael Jackson off his first proper solo album Off The Wall. Bobby Watson's playing on the original track is possibly the best example I can give of really good bass playing (if it is possible to cover that statement with a single song) and I try and replicate (or steal, you decide) some of the feelings and grooves Bobby throws down on this track all the time in my own playing. I love the way he fuses melody and groove in almost perfect quantity, and although I know I cant do it to his capacity, this video tries to highlight that sort of playing. WOW, Brit white boy has got some SOUL in them fingers! I really like it you did a good job ROB! it reminds me a bit of Bernard Edwards style from the late 70's band Chic. I'd love to hear you play "Everybody Dance" :D
