Big Rigs westbound : Trucking down under

Semis, B doubles and the odd over size load on the highway between Melbourne and Adelaide. Shot between Keith in South Australia and Great Western in Victoria over the course of a day. This would be a small percentage of the heavy vehicle traffic on the road in a 24 hour period. It gets really busy at night.
The noise at 00:15 is my mobile phone, not a train and of course I couldn't take the call because that would be illegal wouldn't it.

are all the roads like this? I would miss the Interstate system, plus I could not imagine driving from Los Angelos to New York on these roads, it would take forever.

@cj382 Pretty much, the interstate between Melbourne and Sydney is divided and duplicated as are most of the main roads leading out of the capital cities but most of Australia is just two lanes, one in each direction.

This highway is very good but it has a very intense and weighed traffic, how this do it asphalt support so many weighed trucks? What a madness!!!

@cj382 ...America is about the same size as Oz, but we have over ten times as many people. There would be one giant traffic jam if all we had were two lane roads here.
