What is Enlightenment?

According to Ramesh's concept, Enlightenment or Self Realisation is the total realisation that no one is a doer.

Ramesh answers the question of how a Sage can remain anchored in peace in the face of so much suffering in the world. He talks about his own personal experience of the Understanding, how it happened and describes the process that leads to the sudden event of Self Realisation.

In the past the mind has been seen as an enemy but Ramesh points out the absolute necessity of the mind in daily living for a Sage or an ordinary person. He explains his concept of the two aspects of the functioning of the mind - the thinking mind, comparing, judging and worrying about results and the working mind, dealing with each situation in the present moment.

Peace of mind: the abscence of conflict. Seems boring after the initial bliss of awakening, doesn't it? That's the Ego resurfacing and wanting more! Peace of mind can be appreciated when you think back on what a mess you USED to be!

Good old Ramesh. Met him at his house in 2001, and physically his age is showing dramatically now in this video after seven years. But the message is still as fresh. At the time, peace of mind wasn't quite what I expected (or wanted) either, and much of it went over my head as a result, while some seeds were planted. Nowadays peace of being is the only thing which is of interest to me.
