@Colette2007 my friend told me that they let the mental people run in dark no light rooms.there was a wall that that was connected to a furnace where they burned bodies. they would find teeth and stuff in the walls!!!!!!!!
-
they only left 1/8 of the building and that was the front admin facade. sad to see them tear it down for pathetic condos. but the vandalism was very high and something had to be done.
-
its sad to seen that she died though. she was truely a blessed woman.

She (Mary Balter) does a walkthrough of the place in an interview. It's sad to know that they're were once lives there and different difficult situations that people faced in there lives that we'll never know. If walls could talk. In the interview she said that they meant no harm and that they were just trying to find something that would make the patients feel better, but, I wonder, they can make patients think that they are trying but yet they can be experimenting on them at the same time.

yes, VattesLori, I'm sorry, I've just now seen your comment about Mary Balter- I saw the movie and it really touched my heart

The song is 'Autumnal' of of Angel Blake's self titled album on metalblade records. The rest of the cd is metal.

Did anybody check out the 6 part story of Marie Balter who was an inmate for 20 years in this place. She tells her own story on youtube. It's sad the way they treated people back then. And to think , they were there own kind.

Would anybody be kind enough to message me with a link to download this song? I've been looking for it everywhere and I can't find it.
I'm right near Danvers, I wish it was still there so I could go and see the hurt that was left there.

Building homes on this ground wouldn`t be a good idea..
Wonderful images, haunting music. Very well done. Thanks for sharing these images of this now demolished example of architectural magnificence. It's a shame it couldn't be saved. It's also a shame that this society doesn't appreciate its past and the relics that represent it. (Spoken by a true history and antique lover!)
