@TakerBride777 maybe you could care less but to your dog it's very important, at least to it for them. walking with the packleader is a primal activity that means so much to them.

I WILL however see if I can get a copy of that book you recommended, I am always open for suggestions. I can't promise it will convince me, but I will see what this person believes and if I think it seems good. No one can claim to know the whole truth about animals! But don't you think cesar knows "some" about dogs too? Read his history! :)

Why do you need to jerk on the leash and say no If you dog is "trained" to walk behind you, she should walk behind you without correction. Why is she not allowed to do the normal dog "thing" and sniff her world? A dog lives by it's nose, yet you do not let her use it.

Just one more thing, this video is from when my dog and I had just started "heeling". She wasn't 100% sure that I was 100 % that she had to walk besides me, so she tested me. Now my dog is 19 months and I almost never have to correct her, that's the beauty - it gets easier and easier the more you do it! She is always calm at the walks and looks really satisfied to follow me, she doesn't have to worry and make decisions. In return I proctect her against potential dangers like unleashed dogs ect.

FINALLY! Someone who is sane and understands his methods and applies them correctly. You SHOULDbe bothered how your dog walks. It should be to heel.

I wish I could understand Cesars energy theory more. I do positive reinforcement training which works wonders for us. Ive seen things I dont like from Cesar but there must be some logic. I've tried his books too, but found they revolve around the theory and dont really explain it. Any chance you can try to explain it to me?

I personally think the dog has a decision. Is the person who is working for money happier than thou who is working for happiness? I train my dog to love me because I am good company and because he feels good about his work. Yes, it's possible! Ask your dog to sit and clap and say, "Bravo!" And then post back.
