This year is the first year that an ice park was created in North Pole. Put on by the same organization (Ice Alaska) that sponsors the Ice Art Championships in Fairbanks, held every March, this new venue promises to be a success as well.

This is a collection of short video clips and still shots I put together. I thought Stevie Nick's rendition of "Silent Night" was a good fit. Enjoy.

  • Loved living here.

Is the chocolate shop there still in business? I remember the people there were really nice.

  • I'm not sure about the chocolate shop. Sorry. :/

    I love living here too.

  • Susan, kudos to you for your "N'ice" pictures /video. Remember all the ice art displayed at "North Pole Christmas in Ice" is proprietary works and photos and video is for personal use only, unless written permission is given by "Ice Alaska".

The sculptures were destroyed or moved shortly after closing, because there was a 'liability fear' they might fall over and hurt some one once fence was removed.

We will be ready for next year bigger and better "so Y'all come on up and visit!"

  • Thanks for your kind comments. This video is for personal use; I posted it here to share with my family and friends. It's the only video posting venue I have access to. My photos/video have generated a lot of interest in AK and activities in the Fairbanks/North Pole area. I'm not profiting off of it; it's for personal use. If I'm doing something illegal, please advise.

Looking forward to next year. :)

  • Once again, a wonderful job Susan. I didn't get over to see the ice in NP.

  • It's open until the 30th. :) After that, I bet it's still open to get into even though there won't be anyone collecting money. There was a kiddie park in the back with ice slides. You should check it out when you can and see if it's still standing. I don't think they'd knock them down - I hope!
