Do those girls have to Darn the ends of their pointe shoes ?

Always lovely and soulfully nourishing to anyone who believes in ballet to see the dancers training, working out. The heart, soul of ballet isn't on the stage. It's in the classroom. Those budding talents are something special, they are... ballet.
It's criminal (felony, even) that dancers have such brutally short careers. Teaching and choreography allows them to stay in dance just a little longer. Dancers have such a short shelf life. They expire so quickly.

Cynthia Gregory is such a sweetheart, such magnificence of a dancer. The best thing about teaching, staging, choreography and the like is that it allows dancers who've maybe gotten a bit ripe (even rotted) and taken enough injuries to end a career... and keep them around, in dance--if not flat-out dancing.
Performing is mostly for the young. They age like wine. But to vinegar comes rather soon. You'll not be a pro forever. But you can dance till ya die.
