I was visiting the jetties near Surfside Texas when I saw this big Stolt tanker ship heading off into the Gulf of Mexico. Naturally, with a camera in my hand, I had to film it!

Ship afficionados, enjoy!

  • i used to work at stolt vessels, whats the name of this stolt? i think its from the jewel class like stolt emerald and sapphire..

  • Hello! Sorry, but I do not know the name of this ship. If it helps, I can tell you that the ship was departing from Quintana Beach near Surfside Texas, almost directly south of Houston. Truthfully, this was a candid shot. I happened to have my camera when I noticed this massive ship was moving through the jetty. Thank you for watching and commenting on my video!

  • what a nice ship thanks for uploading

  • Hey, no problem! I am glad that you enjoyed the video!

  • I like standing on the jetties at Surfside to watch the ships go out. I've seen some big mumbo jumbos, too.

  • I agree! The surfside jetties is a pleasant place to observe and think. And there are always so many humble people fishing! I have always been tempted to climb on top of that one light beacon perch at the very end of one of the jetty (opposite of Zeus). There are no signs saying you can't climb it, and it has a very stable looking ladder...!

  • @jetkanji hey what stolt ship did u work on i go on stolt concept every cuz me dad the chief engineer

  • About 2 years ago this ship has almost exploded in Rotterdam; becouse some cargo inside (TDI) came in contact with water. As result came a chemical reaction, that increases the volume of the product up to 5 times more in a short amound of time.

It was towed to sea and left there for several days untill the reaction was over.

  • dude, that is stupid.

  • It's the Stolt Inspiration, built i Fredrikshavn, Denmark 1997, she is 37000 DW, a very nice and good ship.

  • on the way those ships are equipped; you can call them floating refining chemical factory`s.

    truely amazing...

  • nah, i bet you just like saying "aficionado" ;)
