@brettkartracer Ah, cool. I get ya now, I wasn't even thinking of modded autos--and I totally neglected to think about losing boost. :) Teaches me for leaving comments late at night!

The Dodge in this video has since run a 15.78 at 86 MPH (after a few mods). Not bad for manual transmission.

@brettkartracer O.o ... Manual should be faster than auto, dude. XD Horn blows, driver sucks?

@BasherCoon Yes a manual is faster when you are talking cars. No when talking diesel pickups.

@brettkartracer Really? I always thought auto's in diesel to be slow and slushy, At least w/ manual you can hammer 'em in, plus rev higher.

@BasherCoon With today's modern Diesel automatic we have the ability to use lockup torque converters and advanced electronic shifting controls (to control shift points and harshness of engagement). A well built automatic will transfer nearly as much power as a manual transmission with the advantage being not having to let off the throttle to shift (a diesel looses boost when you let off the throttle and that is where you loose your time). I love manuals because they are simple though.

The first run shows our Ford Powerstroke making a 14.89 pass at 89.8 MPH and my newly aquired Dodge Cummins making a 19.02 pass at 69.8 MPH (manual transmission).
