Countdown to Generations - Chemical Plant Zone

Egadds! Speed Boosters! KILL! KILL!

Actually, no. Chemical Plant always felt like a level where they wanted you to go fast. REALLY FAST. So, the gimmick feels right at home to me.

Back in my youth, I hated this stage, particularly the second act (and I think we all know why). Nowadays, it's fun trying to complete the level without breaking my stride. How far can you keep the high speed up?

As a whole, I think Chemical Plant is one of the greatest examples of how an old school Sonic stage works. Multiple paths, unique gimmicks that mesh with Sonic's gameplay just right, and a nice challenge overall.

I'm recording straight from my Sega Genesis this time, so the video quality is noticeably blurrier, but hey, the system's over 20 years old. The only reason the video is 720p is because of the Intro and Outro bumpers.

Ah, the perfect second level difficulty curve, and by perfect, I mean dickish, but still my 2nd favorite Sonic 2 stage of all time.

chemical plant is defenetly a no brainer for being one of the best 2d sonic stages. its acualy my favorite sonic stage ever because not only the music is beest but also the insane sense of speed it had.

Even though this level was a bitch when I first played it,it's so easy now it's the Green Hill Zone of Sonic 2.

2:20 - why *I* hate/dread this stage when I was young....but holy hell, that was fast.

As a kid I also Hated this stage but now, I can't get enough of it! The music's great it's really fast and I love how you can outrun the screen. It look's Fantastic in Generations! can't wait to play it
