@ajlepisto GET A LIFE DUDE ITS A TRAVEL, IF YOU PLAYED "AT THAT LEVEL" YOU WOULD KNOW THAT-PEACE
-
1. I didn't have a question. Unlike you, I actually DID play professional basketball overseas and have played against NBA summer league players myself.
2. Read the rulebook. There's no point insisting your opinion is right if the rulebook clearly says it's not.
3. Refer to points 1, and 2. And stop being a poser.

@ajlepisto jst check how many times its called for a travel against it not being one, that will answer ur question
-
@shine2345 If you actually played "pro" as you say, you would know the rule. It's a really basic rule, and tons of moves and post moves depend on it.
-
@kev0luti0n That's not true. The travel is after your pivot foot comes back down to the ground. Otherwise, as written, simply jumping after you establish a pivot would be traveling.
Use a little common sense. If you say the rule is that you can't lift your pivot foot, you can't shoot a jump shot after picking up your dribble.
It's a travel when it comes back down to the ground, which is why people say you get "2.5" steps...because you get a lift after 2 steps.

@ajlepisto u wud think but apparantly not
-
not just a travel...travel and half....cant reestablish a new pivot for all u morons that dont play ball, or never in college...lol

Not a travel. People are always talking about pivot foot this, pivot foot that. What few people seem to know is that the pivot foot is allowed to leave the ground PROVIDED THAT IT IS NOT REESTABLISHED ON THE GROUND before you get rid of the ball.
From NCAA rules:
Art. 4.
After coming to a stop and establishing the pivot foot:
The pivot foot may be lifted, but not returned to the playing court, before the ball is released on a pass or try for goal;
