Canine Carnival

It was a canine meet and greet on Saturday at Sherando Park as dog lovers and the pets gathered for the annual Canine Carnival hosted by the Frederick County Parks and Recreation Department.




Under gray skies that threatened rain, events that were held included agility demonstrations by the Blue Ridge Dog Training Club; sheep herding by Possum Hollar Farms, Strasburg; bomb detection demonstrations by Mount Weather Police K-9 officers and Virginia State Police; and obedience classes. A silent auction was held to benefit the county's Esther Boyd Animal Shelter.
