@GNEU09 Your comments are not only offensive, they are stupid. Although you claim to be the tender age of 21 on your channel page, your comments reflect the intelligence of a confused 8 year old. I usually just delete stupid comments from neo-nazis, but I'm going to leave yours up as a reminder why this beautiful and poignant memorial belongs right where it is.

@panzermatt It was the greatest atrocity in human history, and you're complaining about space and money? wow.

Also, P. Eisenman wanted the individual to experience several emotions, mostly trying to relate what victims of the holocaust experienced...emotions like disorientation, anxiety, isolation, claostrophobia *Spell check? hehe *....and also hope...for if you are by the taller stelae (15' tallest) and look up you should see a nice cloud or whatever...P.E. did not want the memorial to be a nagging reminder of Germany's history, but something people should experience every day! hopes this helps!

ThANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO...
I'm studying this project for my computer modeling class. It is very helpful since I can't go visit the site all the way in Berlin (I'm in Az, USA).
Any who...
Peter Eisenman did not want the memorial to have the names of the victims for he felt the site would become into a cementary...Brazzle...the concrete pillars (stelae) do not actually represent anything and the 2,711 stelae don't either.
more on another post!

I'm a little confused at the message that this memorial is trying to convey. It is obviously a very well thought out piece of art, and very haunting, but I wish I knew just exactly what it means.

Nice video. I was at this memorial one week ago and found it very moving and impressive. As you walk towards it you don't imagine what it will actually feel like to walk into it. Well done, Berlin, well done Germany.

Your comment has nothing to do with my video, so I am deleting it and blocking you from posting.
i think its a waste of space and money, they should have planted trees to remember these poor people, if i was mayor of berlin id tear it up and make something nice. there is enough memorials, plaques, days, and whatever else to remember this tragedy.

It's not a waste. Jobs were created for Germans in its construction, and as a tourism magnet alone, revenue comes to Berlin. And there are trees.
Visiting this memorial is a truly singular experience and I hope you have a chance to see it for yourself some day.
How about the Frauenkirche in Dresden? It cost sevenfold more to rebuild. Any objections to that?
Thanks for your comment.
