John Abduljaam, renowned Oakland wood sculptor, works with found wood and sculpts with axe, chisel, and saw. He creates powerful and spirited works. The Oakland museum has two works in their permanent collection.

Abduljaami was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, in 1941 and moved with his family to
