Recently installed kitchen hydroponic windowfarm. Uses water pump to circulate the water from a 2 gallon reservoir through 10 hanging pots. Climbing rope is used to hang the pots. The system is hooked up to a timer that turns it on once for ten minutes every 3 hours to cut down on electricity use and keep the annoying pump noise to a minimum.

  • You're right, size is the big constraint. Hope to get some bigger pots made from 1.5 liter wine bottles. In the meantime, my intent it to keep the plants here permanently, not just start them. It will take training them all out toward the centerline of the window. We'll see how well it works. And yes, it's mostly herbs you'd want close at hand; basil, cilantro, and a couple cherry tomatoes.

  • Nice looking set up!

  • Very nice. I wish someone would make a set up like this for me :)

  • your vert hydrofarm is by far the best I've seen constructed. I would give it two thumps up but only one is allowed.

  • Brilliant, but it seems that you are limited by size. Is this just to get the plants started and then to be transplanted to regular pots? Or do you have plans for larger hydroponic tanks? Also, is this just for kitchen herbs? Thanks.

    P.S. Love the videos.
