River Meanders and Floodplains is part 3 of a 5 part series on the science of rivers. This section covers how floodplains and meanders have been altered by humans and how these alterations have effected channel equilibrium. Cross section anamation and video footage help explain how rivers function in times of high water events. This video illustrates how rivers adjust to restore and preserve channel equilibrium over time.

This is presented by Shayne Jaquith, Vermont Rivers Management Program, River Restoration Scientist.

James Valastro Productions has over 100 hours of video footage of river science and river processes.
