A dream-like chess game where all five characters are played by one man and a cat. This was my first film and is where I fell in love with filmmaking — editing, in particular. (See how many editing cheats you can spot: horizontal flips, shot reversals, disguised cuts, etc.) We filmed (that word is used here loosely) entirely with my HP Photosmart 320; a still camera with about a minute of video capability. (We would up the camera, run inside, dump the footage on our eMac, run outside and film some more. There is a wonderful rhythm to this kind of filmmaking, and for a while it was the only way I knew how to make movies. I think I was also charmed by the low, low footage quality which gave the footage more of a 'pinhole' camera feel or that of Super 8.)
My good friend Nathan Clarkson plays the characters here. With help from Missy too, of course.
@DidYouFartRaymond Thank you very much for the compliment! And thanks for watching!

Stylish and atmospheric. The black & white treatment and period feel was a clever way of getting around the video limitations of the very early Photosmart camera. Another one of YouTube's little, hidden treats.
