July 3, 1986 - This fireworks celebration was part of the Statue of Liberty opening ceremony. A Celebration of Liberty, hosted by CBS news anchor Dan Rather, honored 100 years (1886-1986) of this special gift by France to the United States of America. Standing on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, the statue is an icon for welcoming immigrants, visitors, and returning Americans.

  • Stupid Girl, leave Obama out of this. He's doing the best he can.

  • Now THAT was a President. I man who took over in dire economic times and four years later turned things around. Very unlike the incompetent ass currently defiling that office.
