Made with 3ds max. The car is modeled after the prototype of the Chrysler Crossfire. The animation was built as a test for the 'toy car' simulator in Reactor. Basically I built a course with deflectors and let physics define what happened next. I ran the simulation several times until the crash satisfied me. Next came the texturing, lighting, camera animation, particle effects and other cool stuff! The other cars in the scene came from TurboSquid. I modeled everything else.

  • how can you put a texture on a building with windows reflection, if i add reflection to texture, all will be reflected bricks and walls, and i want only windws to be reflected

  • @metallPAUL for a simple texture map with raytraced reflections you can add a Reflectivity/Opacity map under Basic Material Extensions. I often build geometry, assign material IDs, and use multi-sub object maps for different materials on one object.

  • @sptgraphics thank you very much, you really helped me

  • @metallPAUL, glad it helped. My pleasure.

  • Hi, Could you tell me how did you make the roads and the city??? Been looking everywhere to find a good tutorial like this.

  • @techgamer550 Can't offer much of a tutorial. All the city elements are made up of simple polygons. Extrusions, bevels and vertex editing. For the textures I took reference photos and painted maps in PhotoShop.
