Farmers have helped provide food from the field to food bank shelves, thanks to the organization Farmers Ending Hunger.
Mike Moran, Food Resource Manager for Oregon Food Bank, told the Oregon Board of Agriculture on May 15, 2008 in Portland, Ore. about the challenges of sourcing enough food for food banks. Farmers Ending Hunger represents farmers who donate their crops such as peas and wheat to the food bank; companies help process the crop donations, and volunteers also play an important role back at the facility in Portland.
