It's a low C. Not everyone can hit it but there are plenty out there who can go WAY lower with better projection to boot.

@jingeshan24 You're right. most basses should be able to hit this note. But to resonate it in front of a live audience, is a different story.

@MunkyRoCks777 You cannot sing more than an octave lower, I'm sorry. It is practically in possible. Go to a piano and hit the 3rd key, that is an octave lower.

What all you punk ass kids don't realize is that this is a note sung before a huge audience unmike'd. The enormity of the sound that is required is beyond what most can realize. Sure, quite a few can burp up a note like this, and many can make that sound special with a mike. But to actually sing a note like this in an opera is something different entirely...
