雅 Miyavi 2010 - The Samurai Guitarist (侍ギタリスト)

** Updated 5/26/2010 ** : Thank you for the nice comments everyone! I'm glad to know someone else could appreciate this video other than myself (it took me over nine hours to make - yeah, doesn't make a lot of sense to me either.)

I really tried to focus more on his progress as an artist over time on this one. As to whether that was accomplished or not, you can decide ... o.O

Anyway, I've noticed that out of all eight videos I've made, most of them have to do with Miyavi. Which is funny, because when I initially started with youtube, I didn't even know who Miyavi was, lol.
But the first video I saw was of his video "Selfish Love," and as a guitar player of nine years myself, I was mesmerized with his style. I decided I have to meet him someday.
That opportunity came after a couple of years when he was supposed to play at the House of Blues in Dallas, TX - A friend of mine and I were going to drive down and finally get to see him play live.
It was canceled. :|
True story. Yes, for those of you wondering, it hurts.

But after a couple years of Japanese language study and a study abroad in Japan, I think it's safe to say I will meet him one way or another (I can only hope!)

Until then, I've decided I will keep making Miyavi videos, which probably wouldn't be possible if no one cared to upload his videos -- So thanks to everyone who helped and contributed to the making of this video by uploading your pictures, footage, and videos of Miyavi! And thanks again for the positive feedback!


(By the way, while I'm sure most of you are more familiar with the second song, for those of you wondering - The first song clip by Hans Zimmer was taken from "The Last Samurai.")

Out of curious, have you heard Miyabi's work in in Due le Quartz? His playing is just incredibly poignant there... such profound sense of melody and dynamics~ *_* simply breathtaking.
