If you are interested in the new Ritchey Break-Away Bike, or have already purchased one, you'll really enjoy watching this video demonstration. Available in iPod format so you can take it traveling with you. www.ritcheylogic.com
I have the cross Breakaway bike. It is TOTALLY SOLID. I've taken it on trails that make some mountain bikers fail -- think gnarly ST in marginal condition at Skeggs Point. The frame is bomber solid, with a nice ride. And I can take it with me on trips -- Daddy's Sanity in a suitcase. By the way, that's one of Tom's daughters.
After paying $250 to take my road bike on vacation to Hawaii with me, then having to rent a van to transport the bike in its enormous travel box besides the family luggage I can see the advantage of the Ritchey Breakaway. Normal size wheels, standard components, and recognizable frame geometry makes this a nice bike to travel with and enjoy riding - so I assume. I'm waiting for actual owners to post videos and reviews.
Love my Dahon Break-Away! Ritchey frame with Shimano components. Picked mine up for about $1500. Sure you can get a carbon bike, but you can't transport it on the airlines like you can with a break-away. Southwest Airlines has free luggage and the break-away goes down to legal, regular suitcase size!
@wundertigger1 , between the demonstrator and the narrator I think I would like to turn straight.
I have never seen or heard finer. The bike is super-complex, too complex to assemble and break down
for the average user. But, who cares, if we can look at this video every time we need to roll it out?

this makes me want to buy the bike.
it probably is harder then it looks
it's also probably $3k, priced out of any consumer's budget.
