@shyshinshu Everyone has their own opinion, but I am sorry to disagree with you. Shabana has beautiful features. She has the most amazing mouth and eyes.She just has a certain sex appeal about that keeps you wondering. As far as acting, I think she is the Myrel Streep of India. I just watched her in this film. It's a Wonderful After Life. First time I saw her in a comedy. As always she gave an excellent performance. As you can tell, I am huge Shaban fan.

In a way, it came to Shabana's advantage to have her light built and the not so outstanding features lookwise. She fits well in such stories. Obviously, that statement is not to understate her excellent quality in acting.

interestingly, Shyam Benegal used the same background (chirping sounds of birds) in both Ankur and Nishanth. It is a natural background but still exploited well in the entire movie.

do u guys know tht this movie,mandi,nishanth all these movies were shot near hyderabad.some village near hyderabad,andhra pradesh.and the cultural depicts belong to telangana region.these masterpieces are the real stories tht happen in telangana districts.

this film is a qualified masterpiece. I saw it one rare night on UK televsion and now thanks to mr phyoe123's efforts I have had the opportunity to once again be reaquainted with a masterpiece of Indian cinema and storytelling. I wish I could understand Hindi-Urdu. but no matter, I saw the subtitled version on UK tv and besides, a great movie should be able to tell a story without dialogue. which this truly is. the central performances are a marvel
