A leading Sudanese singer, Salma performed 30/01/09 at MAKAN in Cairo, Egypt. She presented a set of traditional Sudanese songs arranged for popular audiences. She comes originally from El Obiad in western Sudan. Hopefully these snippets of the songs can give some impression of what fine singers and musicians and entertainers she and her group are.

  • TheFolksinger,

Thank you for your reply and also for putting such a good video up, very appreciated..

I do know Salma Personally, she such a great woman..3 years ago I interviewed her and I had such a good time in her company...Unfortunately the interview was in Arabic, I`m not sure if you speak Arabic... But yah Salma has very good voice and I do enjoy listening to her...

    Thank you

  • I don'g know if Salma ever checks my page, or this video, but I am sure she would like to sing at your wedding. There may be better avenues to connect directly with her, though. Thanks for the comment.

  • Why are you saying that man! This woman has a great voice and shes very respectful woman..

  • That's a comfort, and not a surprise. Thanks for the identification.

  • The guy in oud is Adel Bush. He is not a relative of the Bushes
