The villagers of Fletching have a tradition where they march with torches, light a bonfire and put on a fireworks show every year.

Here are the villagers marching with their lit torches.

Why do they have these bonfires? From the Sussux Bonfire Societies Wikipeida Page:

"The celebrations mark both Guy Fawkes Night and the burning of 17 Protestant martyrs in Lewes' High Street from 1555 to 1557, during the reign of Mary Tudor."
