Hi..

This is Srikrishna.A.S from Chennai. I'm back with a more refined Pro/e animation of the disc brake action with transparencies showing the exact working of the caliper action. Enjoy watching.

  • I didn't understand much from the video. Where are the brakes and whats happening there? May be some voice guidance would help.

  • @londonor Hi.. The wheel of the car attaches to the wheel hub ( the front part with 5 bolts ). I have not shown the wheel in this video. The grey colored disc is the brake rotor and it rotates with the wheel. Here's how the braking occurs. At 0:13 in the video, i have made the brake caliper transparent to show how the pistons (yellow) push the brake pads (white) towards the rotor and thus bring it to a stop due to the frictional action.

  • what program you used to simulate?

smul need a braking system but did not like, and I was wondering if you also simulated by electronic devices

  • @adrianaosito . I used a 3-D CAD modelling software called Pro/Engineer wildfire 2.0 to generate this animation.
