i looked up the part and its about as much as the tv was so im just gitting a diiferent tv and not a poloroid

It may cost a couple of hundred dollars, but where to get it is a good question, i tried to call a couple of parts distributors for polaroid (a call to polaroid support should be able to give you their part distribs) and the ones i called didnt seem to enthused to sale me something, so I kept waiting and luckily my tv was replaced by National Electronics Warranty.

i can definatly put it in myself but how much would it be and where can i get it

you could try to call polaroid and explain to them the tv you have and whats occurring and tell them you want to purchase the control unit for that item. you can also choose to install it yourself if you feel like you know what your doing (its very easy, a couple of screws and a cable.. not too hard!)

its two years old and i dont have a extended warranty but do u now if i could get the master control box
You are obviously clueless. It's real simple. They repair it or replace it under that warranty. If they replace it, that warranty is terminated. There is no warranty that transfers to another unit. It simply doesn't work that way. And, anyone who performs any work under that warranty must me an authorized technician. Stop being so damned stupid.

@PestSupplyWholesale if you watch the last video.. you will see they eventually cut me a check for my TV price + the warranty + the tax.... it shouldnt have taken them that much hassle to do that.. i was let down they didnt even try to return my calls... I'm not stupid, if i can save a company some money by troubleshooting and finding the cause of the problem i will.. the sad thing was these cheap chinese made capacitors ended up costing us here..

Then again, since you took it apart, you probably voided any exchange or warranty.

No i told them before i called that i was a technician and had worked in the air force on electronics and worked at dell and told them i would save them a service call to determine the problem myself.. and it was obvious after looking on the internet it was a blown cap
