Hermione woke up the next morning with a major headache and her stomach longed for food. It declared that statement with a deep growl. She had to smile and jumped out of bed. The sun light hit her room and she would've bet that it was past lunch time. She hadn't slept that good in weeks.
Her feet touched the cold floor carefully as she sneaked down the stairs quietly so she wouldn't wake up Draco. As she rummaged through the kitchen once again -without succeeding once more -she decided to wait for Draco and watched TV instead. Sitting down on the sofa she wiped away a tear that appeared n her eyes as she saw the photos that used to have her in them.
She heard a noise behind about half an hour later and quickly looked behind her just to realize that Draco had obviously woken up. He looked messy with his hair sticking into every possible direction just like Harry's always did. Hermione hesitated but smiled then.
Draco couldn't help but smile back. He didn't know what to do so he stopped walking in the middle of the room. His mind raced around all the possibilities that could happen now. His heart jumped a little as Hermione got up from her seat, switched of the TV and came towards him. "Hungry?" She asked.
Draco only nodded because he didn't trust his own voice. His mind would only produce senseless sentences. This became worse with every minute he spent near her. He had to get away from her as soon as possible. But Draco knew exactly that it was saver if they stayed together. Simply because then there where two of them against a mass of Death Eaters.
He had rolled down his sleeve that morning and eyed the Dark Mark on his arm with anger, hatred and disgust. This man had ruined his family entirely and he was about to ruin a lot more. Draco had always been a fan of the Dark Lord. The stories his father had told him about the Dark Lord in Draco's childhood had made Voldemort look like a hero. But since the comeback of the darkest wizard the Wizarding World had seen so far he had realized how sick this man truly was. How filled with hatred he was against people that were different than him.
Draco shuddered at the thoughts about his master and looked up to look straight into Hermione's golden brimming orbs. He had never realized before that there were little golden sparkles in the chocolate brown of them.
"What about we look for a Café?" Hermione suggested and grabbed her coat. "Won't this be dangerous?" Draco asked her a little bit scared. There was no need to hide it. She could know that he was a coward. Hermione smiled. "I'll keep an eye on you." She assured him and offered him her arm. Draco took it hesitantly and together they walked out into the sun.
Hermione laughed and closed the door behind her. This had been the first day in a long time that she had laughed again. Draco grinned satisfied and followed her into the living room, dropping himself next to her onto the sofa. "Thank you." He said and looked at his hands. Hermione smiled. "You're welcome." She whispered and looked at the boy next to her. It was the first time that she thought of him as a boy. Not a monster, not a troll, not a Death Eater but a boy. A boy with a family, with a heart and a soul and that laugh of his that was still plastered onto his face made him even look somehow in a weird way nice. Hermione shook her head. Not helping. She had to look for Harry and Ron and help them bring down Voldemort. It was her duty and she would fulfil and some handsome boy with blonde hair and the most amazing blue eyes she had ever see would hold her back.
