The premier of a new series by Euphoria Films about advanced machinima tutorials. This fist episode deals with the common problem of getting the aspect ratios right for widescreen videos when using the Dazzle USB capture card and other similar devices. We show you how to set up the xbox to record in widescreen, and how to editing it properly using Windows Movie Maker and Sony Vegas Pro. Drift0r started up out in this one using Halo, expect a different game and new topic next time.

  • Hey, Euphorian. Question about Sony Vegas.

I folowed all of your instructions and I entered the properties correctly in the boxes, but when I render the actual video, I end up getting a 4:3 letterbox with skinny SPARTANs. I'm trying to get out a video at a deadline and this is really starting to bug me. Is there a way to fix this?

  • @7thElementMachinima What format are you trying to render in? Best check the settings on it. Most of the formats on Vegas use preset resolutions and ratios. Try making one that uses the exact project settings, or just use Windows Media V9 (or V11) default uncompressed.

  • Ok, In Vegas Pro, if it automatically put the black bars at the top and bottom of my video, how do I get those off? Would I just use the event pan/crop to do it? Or is there another way?

  • @ShadowWolf810 Change your project properties to the ones in this video.

  • @EuphorianFilmers Ok Awesome. One more question. My capture card did not come with installation software because it came with an editing program ment specifically for it. I tried to use that capture card with Vegas and it says theres no imput signal. So I tried browsing for the capture card and I cannot find anything having to do the slightest bit with my capture card anywhere.. Any help?

  • @ShadowWolf810 Lets move this into private messages. I'll be sending you a few through my Drift0r account.
