I was 13 when it went down and I went to Whitefish Point Michigan to pay my respects to all who were lost. Being Born in Milwaukee Wisconsin, you could only imagine what the crew went through. So if you have nothing nice to say please say nothing at all. Families lost their loved ones and children lost their fathers.

at 1:38 you can clearly see the flexing of the ship. compare the the stack to the wall of the bridge. what incredible forces. thanks for the video. brings back the memories of machining on the old freighters at toledo ship yard. i was really sad when manitowoc sold it.

My husband is a sailor and this is always a scary time of year. He doesn't like sailing on Lake Superior, but the ship he's on now goes there every trip just about. Very nice tribute. I can't wait for mid January!!!

i believe a man on the dock at the launching suffered a heart attack she startled him so badly when she the water and snapped back on her drag lines.
