well the origins of the Word and the Somalian meaning Hobaale.. goes back to the time before islam and the muslim-faith reached Somalia and converted Somalian's.. and basically Waaq an Hobaale where the names of the 2 Gods that Somali people worshiped before islam came, so islam only came couple centuries ago to Somalia aka Land of Punt/Punt-land/Somalia as Somalia was known back in the days.. and basically before islam thousands of years ago we worshiped Waaq and Hoobaale 2-Gods

i know hobalo means singers especially a group of singers like chorus. the statement is hobaaleyow (singers) heedhe( say yes). i hope that helps ;)

I don't really know what it means but Somalis sing it when they are working on something, my father can the sing the true hoobaale song from the heart hahahah xD and belive me it sounds much better in somalia , but k'naan made it good to :D

Love the Somali kabaan in the begining k'naan is simply a true somali poetic genuis up there with the greats like Haadrawi and Ahmed mooge,
