Cisco UCS C-Series Rack-Mount Servers
Cisco® UCS C-Series Rack-Mount Servers (Figure 1) extend Cisco Unified Computing System™ innovations to a rack-mount form factor, including a standards-based unified network fabric, Cisco VN-Link virtualization support, and Cisco Extended Memory Technology. Designed to operate both in standalone environments and as part of the Cisco Unified Computing System, these servers enable organizations to deploy systems incrementally—using as many or as few servers as needed—on a schedule that best meets the organization's timing and budget. Cisco UCS C-Series servers offer investment protection through the capability to deploy them either as standalone servers or as part of the Cisco Unified Computing System.
Video Description: This video explores the configuration of Cisco System's C-Series Rack Mount server initial configuration and ESXi installation. The following will be covered
1. Configuration of the Cisco Integrated Management Consol (CIMC). The CIMC is used for remote management and monitoring of the C-Series servers. Once the CIMC is configured with a IP Address, Subnet Mask, and default gateway, and the CIMC Ethernet port is connected to the network this device should be reachable from anywhere on the network.
2. Configure the RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks) controller and configure the Hard Disk Drives.
3. Install VMware ESXi 4.1 to the local Hard Disk Drives
Great Video; short, simple, but very informative.
