After months of playing alone, I decided to see if the Wii version of Guitar Hero would let us play it with out the Les Paul Guitar. And it turns out you can.
[EDIT]: It turns out that the whammy bar on the Wii guitars aren't as resilient as those of Playstation/Xbox usage. If you like whammy and it breaks, this is really the only alternative (I tried to fix mine and made it stop working altogether).

@cowzsomehowunited doubtful. After World Tour they decided that the mic would used with the wii mote.

Wow... i rather use the guitar than that....10x easier..
